Pet Insurance Reviews – Compare Pet Health Insurance: I have to tell you I was a little shocked to find out that there was a such thing nowadays as pet insurance. We just got little Chloe on 3/20/2011. Needless to say the kids had been after many for a long time till I gave in to get a pet. As being a Dad I barely have time for all the soccer and T-ball practices let alone all the other things that have to be taken care of at home. But little Chloe grabbed on to my finger and wouldn’t let go so needless to say she came home with us.
On 04/01/2011 I received an email from Prudential Financial and thought I would open it up since I did have a account with them. Low and behold it was for pet insurance and I hadn’t had a pet since my old Britney Spaniel and my Calico cat which was many many years ago. The funniest thing is I had worked for Prudential for 3 years and to be honest I wouldn’t buy anything more from them after how much they pushed their life insurance products. I wished they would have had products like this back when I was a agent.
This started peaked my curiosity and made me think do I need pet insurance? I started my pet insurance reviews to decide if I would buy some or not. After a lot of research I did end up going with Pets Best Insurance. Their insurance was very affordable and they tell you what they don’t cover right upfront. You of course need to do your own pet insurance reviews to decide for yourself.
Pet insurance is there for the large unexpected events that we don’t see. Your pet is part of the family don’t you want them to have the best care possible?

You can select from paper potty training, crate training, rewards based training methods, clicker training and others. Here are two popular methods to train your dog.
Clicker Training
Clicker training is a type of rewards based training technique. Rewards based training is when you reward your dog for a desired action. This is different from negative reinforcement where you penalize a puppy for an action you do not want .
Clicker training is a training technique employing the use of a device named a clicker. It is usually employed in dog obedience training. It goes like this. You give your dog a command. When he does what you seek you click and follow with praise and a treat.
The act of clicking informs the dog that you are pleased with his behavior. As you continue to train, the dog will obey the command you give and perform the action that you seek expecting a reward in return. Eventually the dog will become accustomed to following your command and you will be able to reduce the reward with a pat or praise even without the clicker.
Clicker training is an effective method of training your dog to perform any kind of behavior that you wish. What makes it effective is that you are able to click immediately after the desired response is given. This cues the puppy that it has done what you desire and he will be ready for his reward.
Crate Training
Crate training is a popular style for housebreaking a dog. Dogs are den animals so they naturally delight in being in a closed in area. I know this is contrary to us humans natural behavior, since we do not like confined spaces. However, dogs love it.
The key that makes crate training useful is that puppies like to have their living area well-kept. So instead of pottying inside the crate the dog will hold it until you open the crate to go.
In order to make this training efficient you must be sure to put the dog in the crate and take him out on a consistent schedule. This way their body gets adjusted to the potty times. Be sure you give him food and water on a regular schedule as well.
Eventually the dog will be on a consistent schedule to know when it will potty . Be consistent in where you take the puppy outside to use the potty. This lets the dog know what is an acceptable place to go.
Potty training your puppy using crate training can also be useful in another area. During the process the puppy will get used to being in the crate. This will be beneficial since now you can put him in the crate if you have guests over or if you are traveling.
Clicker training and crate training are 2 effective training procedures for training your dog. Clicker training is helpful to get a desired behavior and crate training can help you get your dog potty trained. Use these methods and you should be on your way to a well trained puppy .

However, once you have been alerted, your dog should realize that his job is done. So select a word of praise, such as “Good Dog” or “Okay”, or command such as “quiet”, and give your dog a pat to indicate that he must now be still.
Dog barking control for hysterical barking such as during a thunderstorm, can be treated by reassurance, companionship, distraction, or if all else fails by tranquilizers from your veterinarian. Barking at a strange object can be quickly stopped by showing him that there is nothing to fear.
Barking from boredom or in order to attract attention is best treated by eliminating the cause. If you give your dog plenty of attention and exercise, you can insist on quiet behavior the rest of the time. Obedience training is of great indirect benefit due to the self-discipline it imposes and the mental and physical activity it provides. Bark collars for dogs are also effective.
Whining, barking, or howling when left alone should not be tolerated. It is easier to prevent in a puppy than it is to correct in an adult dog. However, even a lonely barker can be cured in an afternoon or evening if you arm yourself with patience and whatever acting talent you possess.
You must pretend to leave your dog alone, telling him to “Guard the house”, and that you will be “back soon”. As soon as your dog starts to bark or howl, you must burst furiously into your home, saying “Bad Dog” or “No!” A single experience may be enough to make it clear to your dog that his barking displeases you.
When your dog is duly impressed by your dissatisfaction, you should forgive him, settle him down, tell him to “Guard the House” and leave again. Be patient and hope for the best. If your dog has not barked within 5 or 10 minutes, you can be almost certain that he has learned his lesson. But if he resumes his barking, you must repeat the entire scenario, and repeat it as often as necessary.
As a final scene, stay away for a brief time, and when he hasn’t barked, return, greet him fondly and praise him. Then reward him with a treat or a walk, whichever he prefers. The next day you can test him by making a point of leaving him alone for a short period of time. Chances are that he will pass the test.
In the future, if you take the trouble to give him plenty of exercise beforehand, and opportunity to relieve himself, a diverting to or bone, water and food, whenever you have to leave your dog at home alone for an evening, he will never howl or bark without some justifiable reason.
A simple trick to stop your dog from barking with joy when you come home in the middle of the night is to give him his ball or bone or favorite toy. He cannot hold something in his mouth and bark at the same time. He may gurgle with delight, but this will not disturb the neighbors.

Aside from this humane chance we are giving to man’s best friend, there are also benefits from adopting animals.
The Humane Society of the United States estimates an whopping 8 to 10 million cats and dogs that enter shelters ever year. From these numbers, there is estimated 4 to 5 million of pets euthanized in shelters. Numbers of strays that die due to starvation are not included in this data.
With these sad figures, pet adoption is a great way of saving a life of a homeless animal. Animal euthanasia is being done because there are too many people giving up their pets and too few people adopting from shelters. There is limited space in shelters, euthanasia is a very hard decision to make by staff members to make way for new animals pouring into their doors.
Animals in shelter dying by euthanasia can be dramatically removed by adopting pets in shelters instead of buying them in pet stores. By adopting an animal from shelters, other animals can be saved and rescued else where and provided a home.

There are some points to consider before using a shock collar.
It is important to consider how a shock collar works. First, it monitors the frequency of your pet’s vocal chord vibration. If it gets too loud or too high, it responds by administering a small, brief shock to your pet. It’s kind of like a stun gun, though nowhere near as powerful.
